I love to sew and love to teach sewing. Sewing was all around me as a child. My mom and four sisters all learned to sew, and as you can imagine, there was a lot of sewing going on in our household.
I live in the Mount Royal/Kenwood neighborhood with my husband. We have two adult daughters who live in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Tampa, Florida.
Along with my full-time job as a medical transcriptionist, in 2005 I started a sewing business which included alterations on special occasion clothing and creating custom competition dance team costumes for area high schools.
I have studied sewing at Alison Victoria School of Sewing in Ashby de la Zouch England, Susan Khalje Couture, Linda Stewart Couture Designs, along with self teaching.
I opened Seams Sew Cool sewing classes in February of 2010 because one parent, in particular, asked me to teach her young daughter to sew. The sewing classes started, and it was apparent that these young kids really wanted to learn to sew...and how quickly they caught on. It is important to me to pass on the "art of sewing" to the next generation....a skill that will last them a lifetime.
